Biometric entrance control and time recording
with the solution bi-Cube® Entrance Control

Security plays an increasing role in our every day life. It is public, that biometrics, as a method of identification, is not only used in films. Biometric entrance control, as a part of a security concept of enterprises, means to identify people with distinctive body’s characteristics. For authorised person the entrance is allowed and for non-authorised persons it is denied. Additionally the working time of employees can be taken comfortably and administered centrally.

“The finger is the key“

Today because of the deployment of biometrics it is possible to pass on door keys or identity cards and the risks (loss, transfer, theft) related to this. With the solution bi-Cube® Entrance Control the iSM provides a new component of the bi-Cube® product family, which is an alternative to passwords, access codes and chipcards.

Presently there are barriers concerning acceptance, like the fear of identifications by the police or the total monitoring („glass human being“), but these are prevented by the cryptic codification of the fingerprints in the system. They are stored as templates and cannot be misused.

The benefits of a biometric entrance control are obviously:
• definite identification of an employee
• keys, codes and chip card are not necessary any longer
• prevent of misuse
• minimisation of risk like theft, loss and transfer by mistake
• reducing of administration costs
• increasing of comfort for employees by using his finger
• minimisation of costs by reducing the administration expenditure and decreasing hardware costs
