The most challenging job in today’s heterogeneous IT-infrastructure of
corporations is managing data, accounts and access authorizations of
employees. This puts IT-management in a challenging position to add
flexible accommodations at business processes of the company, and at
the same time enhances security. Both under the requirements to lower
costs at all times and additionally facilitate the work day for the user.

of co-workers, diverse system applications, all these are factors wihch could
complicate a smooth maintenance of users and authorizations.

the market who can hold this IPM-architecture and functionality standard.
Provisioning
Most Security technologies create complicated functionalities, also their
handling and restrictions. Identity and Provisioning Management is one of
the rare security themes which feature a direct profitable impact. The result
is not to address the security of the technology, instead the organizational
required security or insecurity of the provisioning process.
Provisioning is one part of Identity Management and its attention lies in
the process oriented part, where the building of optimization of processes,
within the Identity Management, takes place.
Provisioning means: to place certain access permissions to new co-workers so
that they can get into all recourses they need to fulfil their jobs. Priority
is the provisioning of assignment authorizations, so that they are able to use
the IT-System.
Another part of provisioning task is also: entry and maintenance of user accounts
for each user, soft- and hardware resources and the administration of user identity
with access control for resources and assignment authorizations according to its
department or group identity within the company.
